When I was hanging out around Annapurna Studios trying to get a break, I used to attend the music composing sessions of “Collector Gari Abbayi”. In the course of those sessions whenever its music director Chakravarti and the director B.Gopal used to go for lunch I used to chat up with the music director’s assistant and once in a while he used to sing tunes which he himself composed. I was very impressed with many of his tunes and one day I described to him a scene from “SHIVA” the way I was intending to shoot it and I asked him about what kind of music he thinks should be there in that scene and he replied that there should not be any music in that scene. I was mighty impressed with the answer especially as it came from a musician and I committed to him that if ever I get a break I will sign him as my music director.

When was the last time a SONG stirred us to realize the reality of our current state?

Apparently some people are saying that I have done this for publicity. Of course, I have done it for publicity. Without exception, any material that goes out of a filmmaker’s office be it by way of interviews, or by way of audio-visual, or music pieces, or anything else is to garner publicity for his film.

I always believed that a location in a film should be treated like a character. In the right context and rightly composed you will almost feel as if the location is alive and will have a recall value long after you have seen the film.

There were reports in the media that I was planning a film on the terrible terrorist incident that happened and since I was casting Riteish Deshmukh in it his dad Mr.Vilas Rao invited me to visit the site which understandably created an outrage among various concerned.

You see with the sense of your sight, you hear with the sense of your hearing, you feel with the sense of your touch and all these senses are nothing but the functions of your mind which is nothing but a thought and an idea.
