Going by your explanation. Paying to watch a movie is a zero sum gain. Since I will never get to know whether a movie is worthy of the money I pay for the ticket, without I seeing the movie. Is there any source you suggest from which I get to know if I will like this movie? I have lost belief in newspaper reviews especially after the infamous review of Rann Movie

--- business means live life like godfather... i.e. not to operate huge mafia gangs.. but to interact with society and individual in the manner of "give and take", in the cover of family ...ok

--- rgv is also doing same... giving society " a super powerful ramuism theory" through his
creativity and taking freest life in the 60 over years old free and so called independent society, without indulging it's patriotic spirit any injury.

--- not only rgv...
u, should not laugh to know that even the "all time best proffessional" SRIKRISHNA also
said that "nobody can expect a hit or flop for his karma...."

Read the references too ... finance is a little difficult for me to digest .. but i can certainly make out branding and market share ... well said .. its the perspective of the viewer to make anything hit of flop ...

Well in that case why do movies try to target entire family? one can never satisfy everyone .. why not create something that can hit a group and make sure everyone in that group has seen it .. that way u never over do on the budget and u have ur share of audience .. now it is bound that this group grows with the age .. hence to keep up again might be difficult .. and needs to be addressed in different manner ..

well i guess most of ur movies have a style and group of ppl who would always appreciate it .. but i guess u cud do better than that ..

I am not sure if u wud make out this but still i wud go ahead and say it .. "if everyone today knows photocopy machines as Xerox .. what good did it do for Xerox?? they are out of market anyways"

I guess branding is the mantra .. and a brand always caters to a set of group ...

LOL on Software and hardware good comparison :P
