My Reactions to Reactions

1.Obama’s picture of him looking at a woman’s butt was manipulated and why did you project Bush as a villain?
Ans: Arrey Bhagwan! The point of that article was not about Obama’s character or America’s politics both of which I am completely ignorant of. It was about how the media can take us on a ride and how we also want to go for a ride.

2. Even if one person changes/deprogrammes himself because of this blog it would be worth it.
Ans: Once I asked Satyendra why libraries waste so much money buying so many loads of books which nobody reads. He gave me the same answer saying, “even if one person in decades reads one of those ‘nobody reads’ books and makes something out of it, it is still worthy enough for lesser people like us to contribute towards that person’s output.

3. Why do you think there is no brilliance in Indian cinema?
Ans: Just pick up any what you think to be a great Indian film and compare it to its source.

4. I like it that you live life only on your terms. Keep walking.
Ans: I prefer running.

5. I am affected with Howard Roark but with time I am getting closer to Peter Keating’s personality.
Ans: As long as you realize that consciously you will still have Howard Roark in you. Roark is idealistic and Keating is practical. It’s the guilt that Keating feels which makes him lesser than Roark. In the absence of guilt Keating would be as good as Roark in the real world.

6. You said there’s nothing to understand in a woman’s mind. Yet you admire Ayn Rand.
Ans: Hello, I said that in a sexual context. Ayn Rand is a mind thing. I would admire her even if she was a eunuch.

7. It’s amazing how easy it is to unite people through a common hate than through common love.
Ans: Yeah! That’s because hate is fun whereas love is work.

8. An example of programming fuck ups is how fans adulate stars. Even if the star’s film fails they can’t accept it.
Ans: That’s because those types of fans start having an identity in belonging to that star and the star belonging to them. Hence the star’s failure they will take it as their failure.

9. Indian’s hate Pakistani’s because of what Pakistan is doing to us and not because of programming.
Ans: I hate you not because of what you are saying but because you are incapable of deprogramming.

10. Is this blog meant for cinema or fucking philosophy?
Ans: It’s mostly meant for morons like you who have nothing better to say.

11. Why did you name your blog rgvzoomin?
Ans: Because in here I zoom in to the truth. Truth such as what I want you to believe in even though it’s a lie.

12. Doers like you will not reach the stage of Socrates. Thinkers will reach there sometimes.
Ans: And talkers like you will at most reach this blog.

13. Why is hate such a strong emotion that it makes people even forget the help done to them?
Ans: Because selfishness is a much stronger emotion.

14. The logic behind life is… to be programmed.
Ans: The programme behind life… should be to be logical.
P.S: This applies only to intellectuals like me and not to low IQ’s like you… see you in the next birth. Bye.

15. I think you are mass hypnotizing youth to become confused donkeys.
Ans: Grrreatt. That’s my objective so that the confused donkeys will have atleast a path to trot forward from their confusion compared to tree stumps like you who will stay put for the rest of their deaths.

16. Humans should remain humans and not some supernatural emotionless beings.
Ans: Humans should always strive to become God. Otherwise there is no purpose of remaining
human.

17. Unfortunately no pretty chicks in my office to stare at. Hence I keep coming to this blog.
Ans: If you mean that my blog is the next best thing to sex I am honoured.

18. It’s impossible for a Howard Roark to exist in the real world. Then how come so many people want to be like him?
Ans: Because we live to aspire and in the process we might reach somewhere halfway, quarterway… etc.

19. You are the man who can make 2=5 and 5=2.
Ans: Well. You can do it too if you are smart and strong enough to give your own values to 2 and 5 and also keep changing those values according to situation.

20. Can you say something on decision making?
Ans: If you have identified your goal and do really want to reach it you should start running immediately and be ready to fall or go out of breath or suffer pain in your legs and atleast you would reach somewhere. But what you definitely should not do is ponder over what if you fall, what if you go out of breath or what if you suffer pain in your legs as then you will reach nowhere.

21. You don’t care about us but we care about you.
Ans: Many care about knowing a snake. The snake does not care about knowing many.

22. If you lust your wife’s friend how is it truthful?
Ans: I was talking about the feeling of lust in general and not in a context. Of course in the context you mentioned, if the wife’s friend is more sexier as perceived by your honest mind it will trigger a honest physical response in your body which you can control with a dishonest action of turning away and make honest physical love to your own wife and let your honest mind imagine her to be her friend.

23. Is the best way to live like a spider who keeps building its web no matter how many times it’s destroyed till one day death smacks it down?
Ans: That’s the only choice anybody has. Both death and life anyway come from behind and we
should only build forward.

24. Are you a good boy or a bad boy?
Ans: Better than good and worse than bad.

25. I never thought I will find an idealistic character like Howard Roark in real life till I found you.
Ans: Hello, I am as far from Howard Roark as Aag is from Sholay. Either you didn’t get Fountainhead or didn’t get me. Either way it’s bad for both Roark and me.

26. Are you an atheist or agnostic?
Ans: I am a Ramuist and Ramnostic.

27. You use all the isms as a means to reach your end, rather than allowing isms to use you as a means to reach there end.
Ans: Perfect. I thank everyone from the German philosopher Nietzsche to the Vijayawada philosopher Satyendra for finally making atleast one guy on this blog get the point of what I was trying to say all this time.
Thanks a Million tons.

Wow! Ramu, I tell you…You got quite a traffic here on your site. I hope my comments/concerns/questions/suggestions wouldn’t be over looked and the reason for my concern is….this might potentially CHANGE YOUR LIFE AND MINE as well (with all due respect, I am not being a smart ass or arrogant! And neither am I kidding.) and of course for good. You would agree with me as you go along reading the rest of my…for the lack of a better word “comments”. But I’ll try to find a better word before I finish writing, I promise.

I know you are a very confident person and that you wouldn’t like taking advices or suggestions from merely an unknown like me (these are not my assumptions but facts based on your comments to some of the questions from your fans). But, do not take my words as suggestions. Let’s just say these are just my observations and my expectations on you (I reserve all rights.?) and what I would have done in your shoes (of course excluding all other influencing factors).

I think you hit a road block (If I may…) in your career. You seem to have been lost; I mean not knowing what better you can do, how better can you be? Don’t say you don’t care. Every artist strives/lives/breathes to deliver better the next time. You seem to have been revolving around the same subjects for a very long time and I think it’s time for you to move on. I don’t think you need to prove yourself on your failures (commercially, I mean). I am sure you know you are beyond that. You being one of my favorite directors and one of the interesting personalities I have known in my short life, I hope I can instigate a thought and if that thought can take you to the next level I am successful in my attempt. So, here we go….

Thought 1: This might sound lame but read it with an open mind and I am not kidding. Take five minutes and think about it after you read. You seem like a very passionate person in anything you do. You might project otherwise but I think you are very passionate. The fact that you like women….sorry…. beautiful women and sex of course made me think…….you could rewrite a section of Hollywood’s history by making the most passionate movie (in Hollywood) in par and surely better than movies like Basic Instinct, Ghost, The Seven Year Itch, etc… I have the utmost confidence that you can set a bench mark for the next generation of passionate movies in Hollywood. If you have already started laughing at my thought, like I said, spend just five minutes of your time on this thought and I am sure you’ll agree with me.

Thought 2: It’s very unfortunate that Indian audience have branded you as a “Mafia movie” maker. Most of us think that you are commercially viable only with movies like Shiva, Satya etc. But, I know you are better than making just one genre of movies and I am sure you know that too. Talent doesn’t limit to a certain section of something. Either you have talent or you don’t. I don’t know if you have ever thought of making a good drama. A drama, that’s gripping because of the story and screen play not just because of camera gimmicks or sound effects. A drama with excellent technical values, a beautiful cinematic presentation, excellent performances which actually touch the viewers, a narration which a common Indian man can relate to…

If you haven’t thought about it, may be you should. I think you should. I know you will do wonders. If you have thought about making a drama but haven’t found the right subject, let me tell you that I have the perfect script that is ready to go onto floors. In my mind there are only two directors who can make my script into a movie. It has to be either K. Viswanath or Ram Gopal Varma. I know you both seem to be on either ends of the stick but this is the fact.

Let me give you a preview. The story starts in 1939 with the birth of a baby girl (the lead characters wife) and runs through a span of 69 years and ends with the death of the same in 2008. The story takes us though one mans journey of his life. His struggle, his fights, his successes, his failures, his dreams. This is a story every one should hear, this is the story of a man everyone should know. This is a true story and not a single incident is fiction. Everything is a fact. In fact there is so much entertainment value in the story that there is no need to add our so called cinema masala into it. I happened to meet this person about two years ago and I have spent every possible minute I could find to write the script. Two years worth of research went into writing this script and I am confident on my work.

So, there it is. I have said it all. As you can see I have spent a lot of time to compose my thoughts. Even if you read my thoughts once, my time is well spent. Good luck with your future.

Oh…I almost forgot. If you are interested and want to know more about my script, do mail me (only RGV please…no solicitations).

    Hi RGV,

I have been a spectator all along and have read most of your posts.. While there are times I have seen things from your perspective and there were disagreements, I have come back to read new posts.

With regard to Satyendra, of late, I cannot escape from the feeling that he is your alter ego or a personality that you aspire..

I know from the nuances of your film making how thoughtful you are towards characterization, including fringe players in any scene. The feeling keeps coming back that you are in awe of him (real or virtual) based on how you describe Satyendra…Mind you, I am not big on cinema, but have an eye and interest in human behaviour, so movies do touch my sensibilities from this perspective, and few of your movies have been an interesting study for me. Company for one, Nishabd also comes to mind.

The one with regard to NISHABD has been very sensitively articulated and the piece is a mirror to your cinema making sensibilities. This is a movie I have truly appreciated and could see Mr. Bachchan’s complete spectrum of his craft. I dont buy many DVDs, but for some reason I have bought NISHABD and to be honest, many have ridiculed of my possession, but I have thoroughly appreciated and feel it is one of the most subtle and sensitively captured movie in Indian cinema in the recent past.

Do hope I capture your attention and get an answer with regard to Satyendra..

    Regards,
    Shyam V

    Hello Sir,
You have interesting/different personality, or at least your in a position where you can be different and live with that. What do you think about making a movie with lead character having with the personality you display in your answers and how society would react to this?
