Wow! Ramu, I tell you...You got quite a traffic here on your site. I hope my comments/concerns/questions/suggestions wouldn't be over looked and the reason for my concern is....this might potentially CHANGE YOUR LIFE AND MINE as well (with all due respect, I am not being a smart ass or arrogant! And neither am I kidding.) and of course for good. You would agree with me as you go along reading the rest of my...for the lack of a better word "comments". But I'll try to find a better word before I finish writing, I promise.

I know you are a very confident person and that you wouldn't like taking advices or suggestions from merely an unknown like me (these are not my assumptions but facts based on your comments to some of the questions from your fans). But, do not take my words as suggestions. Let’s just say these are just my observations and my expectations on you (I reserve all rights.?) and what I would have done in your shoes (of course excluding all other influencing factors).

I think you hit a road block (If I may…) in your career. You seem to have been lost; I mean not knowing what better you can do, how better can you be? Don’t say you don’t care. Every artist strives/lives/breathes to deliver better the next time. You seem to have been revolving around the same subjects for a very long time and I think it’s time for you to move on. I don’t think you need to prove yourself on your failures (commercially, I mean). I am sure you know you are beyond that. You being one of my favorite directors and one of the interesting personalities I have known in my short life, I hope I can instigate a thought and if that thought can take you to the next level I am successful in my attempt. So, here we go….

Thought 1: This might sound lame but read it with an open mind and I am not kidding. Take five minutes and think about it after you read. You seem like a very passionate person in anything you do. You might project otherwise but I think you are very passionate. The fact that you like women….sorry…. beautiful women and sex of course made me think…….you could rewrite a section of Hollywood’s history by making the most passionate movie (in Hollywood) in par and surely better than movies like Basic Instinct, Ghost, The Seven Year Itch, etc… I have the utmost confidence that you can set a bench mark for the next generation of passionate movies in Hollywood. If you have already started laughing at my thought, like I said, spend just five minutes of your time on this thought and I am sure you’ll agree with me.

Thought 2: It’s very unfortunate that Indian audience have branded you as a “Mafia movie” maker. Most of us think that you are commercially viable only with movies like Shiva, Satya etc. But, I know you are better than making just one genre of movies and I am sure you know that too. Talent doesn’t limit to a certain section of something. Either you have talent or you don’t. I don’t know if you have ever thought of making a good drama. A drama, that’s gripping because of the story and screen play not just because of camera gimmicks or sound effects. A drama with excellent technical values, a beautiful cinematic presentation, excellent performances which actually touch the viewers, a narration which a common Indian man can relate to…

If you haven’t thought about it, may be you should. I think you should. I know you will do wonders. If you have thought about making a drama but haven’t found the right subject, let me tell you that I have the perfect script that is ready to go onto floors. In my mind there are only two directors who can make my script into a movie. It has to be either K. Viswanath or Ram Gopal Varma. I know you both seem to be on either ends of the stick but this is the fact.

Let me give you a preview. The story starts in 1939 with the birth of a baby girl (the lead characters wife) and runs through a span of 69 years and ends with the death of the same in 2008. The story takes us though one mans journey of his life. His struggle, his fights, his successes, his failures, his dreams. This is a story every one should hear, this is the story of a man everyone should know. This is a true story and not a single incident is fiction. Everything is a fact. In fact there is so much entertainment value in the story that there is no need to add our so called cinema masala into it. I happened to meet this person about two years ago and I have spent every possible minute I could find to write the script. Two years worth of research went into writing this script and I am confident on my work.

So, there it is. I have said it all. As you can see I have spent a lot of time to compose my thoughts. Even if you read my thoughts once, my time is well spent. Good luck with your future.

Oh…I almost forgot. If you are interested and want to know more about my script, do mail me (only RGV please…no solicitations).

Hi RGV,

I have been a spectator all along and have read most of your posts.. While there are times I have seen things from your perspective and there were disagreements, I have come back to read new posts.

With regard to Satyendra, of late, I cannot escape from the feeling that he is your alter ego or a personality that you aspire..

I know from the nuances of your film making how thoughtful you are towards characterization, including fringe players in any scene. The feeling keeps coming back that you are in awe of him (real or virtual) based on how you describe Satyendra...Mind you, I am not big on cinema, but have an eye and interest in human behaviour, so movies do touch my sensibilities from this perspective, and few of your movies have been an interesting study for me. Company for one, Nishabd also comes to mind.

The one with regard to NISHABD has been very sensitively articulated and the piece is a mirror to your cinema making sensibilities. This is a movie I have truly appreciated and could see Mr. Bachchan's complete spectrum of his craft. I dont buy many DVDs, but for some reason I have bought NISHABD and to be honest, many have ridiculed of my possession, but I have thoroughly appreciated and feel it is one of the most subtle and sensitively captured movie in Indian cinema in the recent past.

Do hope I capture your attention and get an answer with regard to Satyendra..

Regards,
Shyam V

Hello Sir,
You have interesting/different personality, or at least your in a position where you can be different and live with that. What do you think about making a movie with lead character having with the personality you display in your answers and how society would react to this?

Company movie is just like a sequel or its D company's second part...may be D company must have been made first, even company movie has a warm exit after ajay devagan being shot dead in the ending. indian movie viewers dont have a patience to wait for its sequel if there is no ending for the first part, may be raktha charithra would be a good film if its made in a single movie with no sequel or it should have a good ending in the first part or you should be leaving a lot of anticipation to viewers for the second part to release soon, just an opinion since i watch all your movies...wishing you all the best
